Alastair Blant BSc (Hons)
Alastair has been working in the shooting industry for 19 years now, and has a vast practical knowledge of both shotguns and firearms and their safe and effective use. As a previous Registered Firearms Dealer, Alastair has owned and run shooting businesses since 2002 and became a Lantra Approved firearm and shotgun instructor in 2010-2014 as well as a City & Guilds NVQ qualified Trainer. Knowledge and experience gained from both his personal passion for shooting and stalking, as well as from his professional interest, means Alastair is highly qualified to answer any technical queries in relation to shotgun and rifle use, ballistics, cleaning and maintenance and their safe use.
Based in the Cotswolds, where he has access to both private Estate rifle ranges and several clay shooting grounds, Alastair offers both shotgun and firearm courses and custom courses tailored to the clients requirements. During the game shooting season, Alastair offers on-peg instruction and stuffing/double-gun loading services and can drive clients to and from the Shoot. He is a recognised ‘accompanying’ stalker to both Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Constabularies.
Custom courses are becoming very popular, and Alastair advises animal parks, vets and zoo’s on animal management and escaped animal procedures. He also works with airports across the country, running bird control courses.
Alastair is a National Rifle Association Range Conducting Officer and is fully First Aid trained. When not running training courses, he can often be found out stalking with his Bavarian Mountain Hound, Mauser! Contact Alastair
Ian has been been involved with firearms and shotguns since he was 12 and his hobby has now extended into being a professional firearm and shotgun instructor. He is an current External Verifier and Instructor for all of Lantra Firearms and Shotgun courses as well as being a Lantra Instructor for chainsaws, pesticides, deer stalking and brushcutters. He is a qualified National Rifle Association Range Conducting Officer and Instructor and a deer stalking instructor with the St Hubert Club of Great Britain.
Ian has run his own business, Millward Forestry, for the last 21 years, involved in estate and woodland management and has long experience of countryside issues. His hobbies are all countryside and shooting related , deerstalking, competing, coaching and acting as a mentor for several people granted their firearms certificate for the first time.

Ann Litchfield BSc Hons
Ann is an experienced shotgun coach in both clay and game shooting. Having had a keen interest and participation in a broad range of country pursuits initiating from farming and shoot syndicates on the Duchy of Lancaster Estate, Needwood, Staffordshire. She has been a qualified BASC coach and full member of the Guild of Shooting Instructors since 2001 in conjunction with game and countryside lecturing. Also an enthusiastic sporting rifle shot, she instructs the full suite of shotgun courses and facilitates all rifle courses at a broad range of venues through her own business A L Rural. Ann is an current External Verifier and Instructor for Lantra Firearms Courses and a land-based assessor in agriculture, game and environmental conservation.
Ann runs her business from Derbyshire and provides shotgun mentoring and tuition on both clay grounds and private game-shooting estates throughout the UK, upland and lowland. Contact Ann
